View out of my office window, today at about 11 a.m.

We're bracing ourselves for a direct hit by Tropical Storm (Hurricane?) Edouard sometime tomorrow. Our hurricane kit is prepared, our outdoor furniture is put away, and Alex has been saying 'time to BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES, BABY!' all day long.

Inexplicably, I'm expected at the office tomorrow. Admittedly, today was a beautiful sunny day, making it difficult to imagine the tempest currently churning slowly offshore. However, I'll keep an eye on things, and decide in the morning whether I should risk going in.

A confession: I'm generally a scaredy-cat, but there's a strong, irrational part of me that is hoping for a few photo ops when the storm arrives.
