Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I have a big week ahead, so let's get to it:
8. Even after shooting photos for about 14 years, the photos in our entryway above are the first photos I've ever displayed in my home -- and they've only been up for a little over a year. I finally hung another one about 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure why I've been so resistant to hanging them in the past -- it just feels odd to do it. 7. For 14 years, I had a golden retriever named Hobbes. He was the best dog ever -- a friend used to tell me that if I ever just looked at the dog and said, 'Hobbes, please make me breakfast,' he half-expected Hobbes to walk in the kitchen, tie on an apron and start whippin' up some grits. I never got a dog after his death because (a) they are such a responsibility, and (b) the tumbleweeds of fur that used to roll across my living room used to drive me nuts. I think, however, the time is soon coming where I'm going to have to cave: Alex is becoming quite a dog person. 6. My favourite colours are blue and green, preferably together. They remind me of the Caribbean, and I get a strong nostalgic feeling when I seem them next to each other. 5. As is probably now obvious by my choices for the song for each of my posts, I have pretty varied taste when it comes to music. The only genres I'm not fond of are country music and opera. The notable exceptions to this however, are El Paso by Marty Robbins (because the father of a close childhood friend -- in Trinidad! -- would sing it all the time, and it invokes very warm memories), and Aretha Franklin singing Nessun Dorma at the 1998 Grammies, because come on. Your turn again -- and remember, I'll be picking one commenter from the post between the 1st and tomorrow to receive a framed Chookooloonks print. Note that you don't necessarily have to reveal a random fact about yourself (God knows I'm certainly running out of them!), but if you do, that'd be great!
