For those of you who were disappointed that I didn't post a photograph of Alex's favourite word of the day yesterday, here it is, belatedly: 'Bee Movie.'

Alex has been dying to see Bee Movie ever since she saw its preview a few months ago at the theatre -- so there was no way we weren't going to see the film when it came out. She finally got to see it yesterday.

My opinion: meh. There are lots of great little jokes in the film, but it was clearly written for adults rather than for children -- not because any of the material was inappropriate, so much as it required an older, more experienced sense of humour. And then, about 80% in, the movie takes a really twisted, completely weird turn -- almost as if the writers figured out it was time to end the movie, and had no real idea of how they were going to do it. Personally, if I were you, I'd wait until you don't have to pay full movie-theatre prices before you take your little ones to go see it.
